Hope is a funny thing; it seems to be fickle, coming and going with the changing days. But hope is so important to the human condition. Without it, we feel lost, confused and rudderless. Despite that, I find it important to continue to keep informed about the worst things we see in our world, because to ignore it is to never solve it, and in that way we can find some hope in the darkness
lyrics
I’ve been all alone, in the forest
Sunk into the ground below us
Swollen and broken
I got nothing if not time
A night out on the town we can forget,
all the things we doubt and we regret.
Not caught dead hoping,
I got nothing, it’s all lies.
Hope, I know,
you were like a coat, I lost.
Stuck out in the cold, wind blowing.
Shovels in the dirt, I’m going.
But the darkness kept me focused,
might seem counter to progress,
but right before the dawn breaks,
it’s pitch black here in my brain.
You’ve been feeling low, I can tell
Tell me where’d you go, when ya fell
Swollen and broken
You had nothing if not quiet
That was all before, I came to ya
Gifted like a sword, who could fool ya?
Stuck inside a stone
You got nothing if not might
