Undergroundhero Like Lions is a vehicle for Seattle, Washington based musicians; Patrick O'Neill and Ben Kersten.

Using folk & pop music as a template, Like Lions, "All Be Fine", is an album full of excellent songwriting, with the use of synths & keyboards for effects. At first, the electronics may come off as a gimmick, but turns out good for their creative use of effects in some songs & passages."All Be Fine", will make my top 2013 indie albums list. A must own for indie pop fans!

Paper Bag 03:19
Seven digits at the bottom of a blank frame My broken head lost your name I’ll call you anything I please Catch you off guard always with a catch phrase My mouth can smile on my mad face I don’t mean everything I say Hey, she packs the sun away in a paper bag again today I’ll call you anything I please We are just motion picture lovers
2.
The fishing line, was pulled tight by the favorite child A colored coat he was wearing In my life the church bells rang every night And I made sure I was present And bargain shelves are holding pieces of the devils tale From floor to ceiling And back upstairs all the pieces are always there Try to embrace them It’s cold outside as pigeons fidget into the night With black spots on their feathers If I could help I’d give a nickel to the snow that fell And covered up all these feelings
3.
Corners 02:46
You walked in this morning With a million stitches left Sewing up everywhere you’ve been Your character is broken every time There’s an option left Where you don’t become the best With every corner you crawl into I now know better to follow through Put everything in line I’ll lose my watch this evening If it means I don’t have to show For all of this lying around With all of that energy going towards Moving nowhere fast You must be getting pretty close With every corner you crawled into I now know better to follow through Like every boulder you held to cast Into the water to sink so fast You said baby I can do that Baby I can do that, just as fast
4.
All Be Fine 02:29
I was trying, but I got high and nothing came out right Three more hours to California here I come again I need sunshine deep in my eyes to keep them satisfied When winter comes man, all be fine On the frozen west side But I should know better than that you might think But here I am on the frying pan again And I was cracked and bent for them to fix But those flashing lights always seemed like nonsense I buzzed your door and you came running always so amused In three more hours I’ll be downstairs waving at yellow blurs With all these white lines pinned at my side nothings relative And when he asked, “Sir, where are you going?” I could only shake my head And I should know better than that you might think But here I am like a rerun all day again And I Just might have better things to do But my lists are lost and I’ve lost the ability to talk
5.
The countertop was filthy with beer bottles and ash Smelt like backseat full of trash We’d forgotten to clean The scripts were read in programs for the whole wide world Sitting in a hotel with the only girl I’d forgotten to take If I drop the ball She’d be picking it up for me If I missed the call She’d never talk after the beep The crooked cans in boxes were too noisy in the hall The landlord needs a haircut and overalls Because he’s forgotten to put on his clothes The cops were only sent to scare the shit out of us But we were busy laughing it’s the first of the month And man I’ve already cashed my check As a matter of fact now you cant go back out And leave me hanging Out on the tracks now falling back down On knees bent and shaking

You never went back to the store on the corner You caught the bus to the market and fixed yourself Slow and steady drifted missing both my pockets Which way did I go first? The Misses listen to her disco with her headphones And Master sees her singing Can’t help but open up a bottle of the finest Oh Misses won’t you please, please me She’s gone and put a hex on me There’s a kitchen table with a drawer for keys She left without me Cleared out Dinner was served at precisely seven The host was sleepy, lost in simple conversation Her dress was wrinkled from the studio apartment Where he left his things in the middle of the carpet If only they’d been a little more surprising That’s a cold they’re faking, bad cards they’re playing
8.
I’ll find the answers at the bottom of the ocean Digging a hole in search of gold Using fictions from the pictures in my brain Scratching smiles on every face Cutting out the clouds for sunshine You be the end of my book Where everyone’s crazy I see the summertime Follow the dotted line This could be the only reason we were left here Throwing out gold in search of more Closing doors just open a couple more Who’s to say I’d walk right through yours Before I’d walk through mine Where I’ll be the king of my town And we’ll all go crazy I see the summertime Never ending in my mind
9.
Kingsley 01:04
(Instrumental)
10.
Folded crop circled forming a claustrophobic maze Holding onto the storm clouds if you’re saying it out loud Shame on you Mountain passes all painted white The old ghost of Lincoln heights cave Winter’s almost through Engaging in illegal exchanges Meeting with strangers names Old faces, and thumbs signing lullabies The same day that music died Wait! The stock was for a lot longer than a little while Now I got to climb to the bluff The great outdoors came at the price of a little time With the hunters & gatherers on the run
11.
Good Morning 02:24
Walking down the road with the sun on my back Grin on my face, shit aint bad Don’t got the blues anymore Old man on the corner wants a dime for crack Dig in my pocket, don’t have that But I got some news for you anyhow You see that stranger just ahead He’s got shit on his shoes And I’m not pointing fingers but I think it’s from you So come on with me and we cant tell him together I went to the bookshelf for something to read But I found nothing id not already seen This is such a magical place But I could use a better look Because the television screen is always screaming so loud Can’t find the flicker and I cant get out Of this bed right now, not at all The sunshine it lights my window but The sky is not blue The alarm clock wakes up good morning, to you Good morning
12.
Cloud Canopy 04:15
(Instrumental)
13.
No Problem 04:18
The final spectacle Was like a Sunday drive through town Just how my lover felt When time had actually run out Oh boy this cant be happening now This mischief will not go unpunished But hear me now as I tumble to the ground When the sun goes down it does not vanish There was nothing left There to cover your chest From all of those villains Underneath your steps You went to the trees You were waiting for me And I had to problem Because we were all about to leave I fought the cold and their army with my hands Dug both my feet into the sand I know now everyone I know Is practically saved But there’s nothing inside this house It’s empty It’s safe.
14.
Trees 05:12
Forgotten and pulled outside It’s nothing serious But it appears I’ve found the truth Sitting all leather bound Kept like a wedding ring The beaten sons eternal youth I like the fog in December And the snow that falls On parked cars where I remember Going home So long ago The myths were all written off As merely age-old tales Full of everything but truth The lines kept circling Back upon themselves Until there was nowhere left to move But back to the start The tree that holds us now From what’s below us down
15.
And when the sun goes down Its does not vanish And when the sun goes down It just comes back around, and around

about

Like Lions started when Spokane native Patrick O'Neill moved to Seattle and hooked up with local producer/musician Ben Kersten. In early 2009 they started recording what would become Like Lions debut record "All Be Fine." With the help of some very talented friends the guys did all the albums tracking at Ben's studio, Mysterious Red X in Seattle. Recording, and mixing continued through most of 2009 and early 2010. After a 2 year hiatus the guys reconvened and in 2012 finally finished what they had started. The album was released in March 2013, both digitally and on 12 inch vinyl.
